Fallopian tubes can be easily blocked by pelvic infection & cause infertility. Diagnosis is made on HSG or a routine laparoscopy. Blocks close to the uterus can be opened by hysteroscopic route whereby a very fine catheter is passed past the block. In blocks further away, laparoscopic fimbrioplasty or tubo-tubal anastomosis by microsurgical tools is done. Robotic surgery gives still good results as it provides a 3D view, filters human tremors – factors which are important in fine suturing.
