What is Robotic surgery?
Robotically-assisted surgery is the latest concept in modern medicine.
The idea is to overcome the limitations of laparoscoic surgery & to enhance the capabilities of surgeons performing open surgery.
In case of robotically assisted minimally invasive surgery, instead of directly moving the instruments, the surgeon uses a remote method to control the instruments.
There is no additional risk to the patient as every movement of the robot is absolutely under surgeon’s control.

-Much wider range of movements (which are impossible with human hands), through very small incisions. This allows the surgeon to operate in deep areas which are difficult to reach by hands, & with greater precision.
-Small incisions resulting in less pain, decreased blood loss & faster recovery.
- Surgeon health benefits – As the surgeon sits in the console during surgery, robot takes away the prolonged hours of standing, shoulder, neck, back & eye strain from the surgeon, as often happens in laparoscopic surgery.
